Project Description

The Doha Metro is part of the Qatar Integrated Railways Program (QIRP) to advance its public transport system to cater the majority of the commuters. The Gold Line Underground section of the network runs East/West through the heart of Doha City, starting to the East at Airport City North station and continuing through the 11th Al Aziziya station.

Hydroserv was contracted to undertake dewatering works at Airport City North Metro Station to allow deep excavations for the construction of modernized station. A hybrid dewatering system was installed with deepwells and sumps, connected to an over pumping system with groundwater treatment.

Airport City North Station – excavated up to 25m deep, installed 121 deepwells with a flow capacity of 1,400l/s and a 2.3km over pumping system to discharge to the sea.
