Construction

Whether your construction project is large or small, Hydroserv has the right solution for your dewatering needs. Early engineering advice and design input from your dewatering subcontractor is not only necessary but vital in planning your works and ensuring your schedule is met. We have experience in the excavation and construction phases of hotels, office and residential towers and multi-storey buildings where basements and foundation works sit below the water table. Successful integration of your dewatering needs at the earliest stage possible will not only reduce the environmental impact of the job but also assist in improving site safety, logistics, maintaining budgets and improving productivity.

Roads, Drainage & Infrastructure

With numerous infrastructure upgrades and new works ongoing and planned for the city of Doha, we are well placed to provide you assistance on your roading, drainage or sewerage projects. We are currently involved on a variety of upgrade, extension and bypass projects and are providing dewatering services through trench and sump pumping and deepwell dewatering for deep sewer lines. Whether you need dewatering for micro-tunnels, attenuation tanks or pump stations, our experience provides us with the knowledge and expertise to tailor our solutions to your project specific needs.

Railways

Hydroserv is involved on a number of large scale metro projects including underground metro lines and stations, surface lines and elevated lines.  The dewatering requirements for these projects vary from deep cuttings for underground stations, attenuation tanks, emergency exit shafts and tunnel line dewatering. Whatever your application, Hydroserv will meet your design requirements to ensure your project is unhindered by elevated water table levels.

Marine

Marine, ports and dredging projects require careful planning, control and contingencies. Due to tidal fluctuations and the ever present risk of increased inflows due to open sea proximity, it is important to get modelling and design correct to achieve required drawdowns. With previous and ongoing experience in the city of Lusail and construction works adjacent to the lagoon open body of water, we have the plant, equipment and technical capability to work in marine settings.

For these projects, the discharge location is predominantly direct to the sea which can be convenient from an installation perspective. However, with increasingly stringent environmental limits for discharge and concern for marine and aquatic life, parameters such as total suspended solids (TSS) and turbidity need to be designed for. With a number of design solutions for settling including settlement tanks, settling lagoons and clarifiers, our design team will review your requirements and select for you the most effective method to treat contaminated discharge water from your site.

Oil & Gas

Located in the largest oil and gas region in the world, the requirement for pipelines to transport these commodities is always present. Installation of oil and gas pipelines located subsurface, like any other infrastructure works will require either cut and cover &/or tunnelling and hence dewatering to ensure controlled and safe installation.

Hydroserv can assess your project and guarantee an effective solution to reduce groundwater levels in your pipeline corridor. Contact us today for further details or advice.

Environmental

Protection of our natural environment is an integral part of every new infrastructure and development project and every effort needs to be taken to install effective control measures. With increasing populations and economic growth, the impact of development works on our environment can be detrimental. With careful planning however and the use of suitable technologies we can preserve and protect our surroundings while also enabling construction and infrastructure works to maintain progress and schedules.

Groundwater contamination and controlled discharge is the predominant concern on many construction sites that requires attention and effective solutions. Discharge is typically disposed of off-site; to controlled water; to land or to the stormwater network, however strict discharge criteria need to be met.

Contaminants can vary from suspended solids and turbidity, to coliform bacteria or elevated or decreased pH levels and hydrocarbons. There are many different contaminants and an array of solutions and technologies to treat each of these problems. There is no one solution that fits all, but all problems can be solved and cleaner water achieved.

Remediation solutions in the form of simple add in measures and more advanced systems are available such as:

  • flocculant blocks
  • lamella clarifiers
  • coagulants & flocculants
  • dewatering geo-bags
  • chlorination systems
  • pH adjustment
  • hydrocarbon removal (free phase & dissolved phase)

Hydroserv can offer you expert advice, designs and a range of custom solutions to solve your problem and have experience in dealing with contaminated water on projects around the Middle East, the UK, Ireland, New Zealand and South Africa.

Airports

With heightened economic progress in the region leading to increased business and tourism travel, comes the requirement to expand existing airports or build new ones to meet traveler’s demands. Hydroserv have the capabilities to work alongside design and construction teams in security sensitive areas and ensure delivery of projects is unhindered by groundwater levels. Our management team have been involved on a number of airport projects and would lead the design and operations teams for seamless project delivery.

Shafts & Tunnels

Infrastructure development at times requires tunneling and shaft work for upgrade and installation of new gas, water and sewer lines.   While tunneling is sometimes seen as the most cost effective solution, their construction can also impact on local surroundings and hence require good planning. Part of this planning is to ensure that groundwater is controlled prior to and during the construction phase.

Hydroserv has been involved in numerous tunneling, micro-tunneling and shaft work projects and has the experience to control any groundwater inflow situation. Proper planning and set-up of the dewatering systems are key to ensuring the system has the flexibility to deal with unknowns while maintaining water levels to enable to construction to continue.
